Terms of Service

Effective 21 September 2026 · Last updated 21 September 2026

These terms cover the use of Screed, a jobsite safety and production service provided by Voihost. By creating an account or using the service, the customer agrees to them.

Screed is in early access. It is in active development with a small number of partners. Features change, and some described on this site are not finished. Anything not yet built is marked as such where we describe it.

1. Who these terms are between

"Voihost", "we" and "us" mean Voihost, Ontario, Canada. "Customer" means the organisation that holds the account. "User" means anyone the customer gives access to — an employee, a subcontractor or a visitor.

Where a user is an employee of the customer, the customer is responsible for that user's use of the service, and for telling them what is collected.

2. The account

3. The customer's data

Everything the customer and its users put into Screed — forms, answers, photos, signatures, documents — remains the customer's. We claim no ownership of it and do not use it to train anything or to build products for anyone else.

We process it in order to run the service: storing it, backing it up, rendering it into documents, delivering notifications, and providing support when asked. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

The customer can export its data at any time while its account is active. On request following termination we will provide an export, and will delete the customer's data within 90 days of the account closing unless a longer period is required by law.

4. What the customer must not do

We may suspend an account that is being used in these ways. Where we can, we will tell the customer first.

5. Availability

We aim to keep Screed available and to give notice of planned maintenance, but during early access we do not offer a service level guarantee.

Screed is built to work offline. Forms can be filled in and signed with no connection, and are sent when one returns. That is a deliberate protection against our own downtime, and it is the reason a service interruption should not stop work on a site.

6. Compliance is the customer's

Screed is a tool for recording safety work. It does not perform inspections, make safety decisions, or ensure compliance with any statute, regulation or standard.

Responsibility for health and safety on a workplace rests with the customer and its supervisors under the applicable occupational health and safety legislation. Using Screed does not transfer any of that responsibility to Voihost, and nothing in the service should be taken as legal advice or as certification that an obligation has been met.

Features that reference legislation, forms or standards — including Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act, WSIB forms and COR audit elements — are provided to help the customer organise its own records. Confirming that a record satisfies a legal obligation remains the customer's responsibility.

7. Fees

Early access customers are billed, if at all, on the terms separately agreed with them in writing. Where paid plans apply, fees are quoted in Canadian dollars and exclusive of tax, and are payable in advance of the period they cover. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change takes effect.

8. Ending the agreement

The customer may close its account at any time. We may end the agreement on 30 days' notice, or immediately where section 4 has been breached or where required by law. Section 3's export and deletion commitments survive termination.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Voihost is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or revenue, or for loss arising from a decision made on a worksite. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $100 where no fees have been paid.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects the customer's rights we will give at least 30 days' notice to the account's administrators, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, and both parties submit to them.
